About

The Charlotte Food Shelf is an all volunteer organization supported by the Charlotte Congregational Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the Charlotte Community. It is located in the Congregational Church vestry  at:

403 Church Hill Road

Charlotte, Vermont 05445

 

Mission Statement

Charlotte Food Shelf, Inc. is a non profit striving to provide nutritious food to those residing in Charlotte, Vermont or North Ferrisburgh, Vermont.

 

Eligibility Requirement for Patrons

​

  • A community member of Charlotte or North Ferrisburgh

  • Registration with proof of residency is requested on second visit to Food Shelf.

​

Proof of Residency provided by a current invoice, such as a utility bill, which verifies name, address and residency of patron.

 

Schedule

Wednesdays 4-6 pm and Saturdays 9-11 am   

(2nd and 4th of the month),  unless otherwise noted​​​

Wednesday, September 10th and 24th
Saturday, September 13th and 27th

Wednesday, October 8th and 22nd

Saturday, October 11th and 25th

*** Please note: Annual registration and Holiday registration will be done at the Wednesday, 10/8 and Saturday 10/11 distributions

Saturday, November 15th 

*** Thanksgiving Distribution: Saturday, November 22nd, 9 am to noon ( specific times will be assigned)

Wednesday, December 10th

Saturday, December 13th

*** Holiday Distribution: December 20th, 9 am to noon (specific times will be assigned)

 

Assistance

The Food Shelf provides the following types of assistance based on available funds:

 

Adult Preventative Dental Care Assistance 

Emergency Heating Assistance

  • Fuel

  • Electric

Children’s Assistance Program

  • Non marking sneakers for PE at school

  • Winter clothing

Emergency Assistance Grants

Emergencies outside the scope of established programs may receive assistance based on circumstances and funds available.

​Application for Grant Assistance (Forms are also available at the Food Shelf)

Applicants must reside in Charlotte or North Ferrisburgh.

The Food Shelf is accepting non-perishable items. Please bring donations at distribution times.

Volunteer

The Food Shelf welcomes volunteers to assist with:

  • Food distribution

  • Food Shopping 

  • Special projects throughout the year
